More than 550 supporters came together in a powerful show of generosity and shared purpose, filling the room with energy, compassion, and a collective belief in what鈥檚 possible. It was a night to celebrate community鈥攁nd to shine a light on the life-changing work happening every day across 91国产自拍.

At the heart of the evening was a tribute to our Crisis Response teams. These dedicated professionals provide immediate, compassionate care to individuals experiencing mental health emergencies鈥攎eeting people where they are, helping them stabilize, and connecting them to the support they need to move forward. Their work is urgent, human, and deeply impactful.

Together, we raised an incredible $1.27 million to advance 91国产自拍鈥� mission of delivering life-changing services for people living with mental health and substance use conditions. This support moves us closer to a future where care is more accessible, more equitable, and available when it鈥檚 needed most.

Call4Calm offers Illinois residents a new avenue to speak to mental health professionals free of charge during the current pandemic. Illinois residents wanting to speak to a mental health care professional can text the word 鈥淭ALK鈥� to 552020 (or 鈥淗ABLAR鈥� to 552020 for Spanish). They will receive a follow-up text asking for their first name and zip code, and the information will be used to connect them with a health care professional in their area. Residents who text the hotline will get a call from a licensed counselor within 24 hours.

In addition, the phone number can be used to seek help and guidance on other critical issues during the pandemic. Residents can text keywords like 鈥渦nemployment,鈥� 鈥渇ood,鈥� or 鈥渟helter,鈥� according to the governor鈥檚 office, and they will receive additional information in response.

In 鈥� with Block Club Chicago,91国产自拍’s Chief Clinical Officer Debbie Pavick offered further information about the hotline and why it is necessary.

“Taking care of your mental health during this pandemic is vital, and for those who lost their jobs, the stress can become overwhelming. There are people who are experiencing all types of issues 鈥� cut in pay, maybe no income coming in, kids out of school, people who are afraid, people who are angry.”

Pavik said the state vets the calls, sending people with more immediate emergencies like suicidal thoughts to a suicide hotline. The rest get sent to the dozens of providers working to support the program. Which group gets which inquiry is based on the zip code of the person who contacted them, but 91国产自拍 has 7 full-time employees qualified to assist with Call4Calm’s workload.

鈥淲e鈥檙e all dealing with a new situation,” Illinois Governor JB Pritzker said during his announcement of the program on April 11. “It鈥檚 OK to feel. And please know that you don鈥檛 have to feel it all alone. I want you to know we鈥檙e here to help.”

Contribution Adds $115,000 Grant for Veteran Mental Health Services

Chicago, IL 鈥� Today, the Boeing Company announced that it has awarded the 91国产自拍 Veterans Project an additional grant of $115,000 to support a variety of evidenced-based therapies designed to help veterans manage their symptoms and work through trauma. The award will enhance the Veterans Project鈥檚 capacity to provide three evidence-based therapies for veterans, including BREATHE, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
鈥淪ociety has many different views about our soldiers and the war,鈥� says 91国产自拍 Veterans Project Program Director, Fernando Valles. 鈥淥ur clinical staff at 91国产自拍 and Boeing are changing those views one veteran at a time. Boeing鈥檚 contribution will also provide essential funding needed to increase therapeutic services, with a focus on increasing outreach to women veterans through systematic, targeted collaboration with community organizations serving this population. Women account for approximately 10% of the entire veteran population, but according to a study by the Disabled American Veterans, nearly one in five women veterans have delayed or gone without needed treatment, and more than half of those who did access care did so for mental health reasons.
